As a fan of Prostreet’s aesthetic, I was happy to see this livery in heat and how well it works on this car. Thanks to the livery’s creator and the makers of this game, it’s great!

...will Roshni ever ask Ana out? She's asked me if Ana's single about 5 times now.

Heat is the probably the best NFS I've played since Underground.

I haven't played all the NFS games since Underground. Both Most Wanted games, Payback, the 2015 reboot, Shift, a little bit of Hot Pursuit and I gotta say, Heat really takes me back to the old days. It's such a vast improvement on Payback. The gameplay mechanics seem extremely fitting for a NFS game. I adore the tuning options, the new damage system, and the cop heat levels (pretty much the equivalent of GTA's 5 star wanted levels). Best of all, no speed cards from Payback. I heard a lot of criticism for the story and while it is as silly as most reviewers say, it's also somewhat enjoyable even if it is overdone. The car culture, the nightlife, the free roam, the cops agenda with stop street racers, everything just makes the overall product a bit nicer and more enjoyable like an older Fast n Furious movie.

I do have some criticism though. The controls are utter shit and there's no remap option. Manual shifting on the PS4 with L1/R1 makes manual simply unplayable. I believe that Forza perfected the controls with B(circle) to shift up, X(square) to shift down and L1 as a clutch. More racing games definitely need this feature.

Furthermore, there could be a bit more cars (a shame there's no Toyota in the game) and overall city life. Some pedestrians and more NPC vehicles. The city is quite literally empty. Also the rubber band AI is still in the game and pretty ridiculous on the higher difficulties. I had to scale it back down to normal otherwise the AI would just crush you like a bug no matter what car you are in.

NFS is still very much here and alive although there's some room for improvement. I hope they keep at their current formula but try making the game a big bigger with the map, cars and maybe even slightly more realistic (simcade or whatever everyone is calling Forza these days) so that car cosmetics come into play (stance = low grip, wing = better handling but lower top speed, etc). Maybe even some weight reductions (reinforced chassis = more protection against the cops but more weight and slower turning) as the handling really is super sensitive and max oversteer with the handbrake and "drift" mode. Overall, fun game, vast improvement on payback, I would recommend.

[Heat] I used to dislike drifting events in racing games... Until I met this car and NFS Heat
