- Need for Speed Heat - January Update
- Ghost, something like this might be a good way to make update expectations clearer
- The new update is beyond a joke
- I would love to stay respectful. If a single soul pays for this while so many people did efforts to find them and made such helpful videos & articles about it for the community, your brain is smaller than this update, beyond saving, NFS is dying and they want more money from you, unreal - #RIPNFS
- Can you just add controller remapping at this point?
- We are allowed to be disappointed with this UTH.
- Ghost's Max Myrus has finally commented regarding the controversial Jan update
- I found this 3 legendary games when cleaning my room
- I got a feeling this might be why Heat didn't have as much marketing than 2015 and Payback and also gets less post-launch than either.
- The update was wrongly advertised, everyone has the right of feeling dissapointed
- I'm going to put my two cents in.
- NFS Pro Street - My childhood NFS hero
- I really hope they add something breathtaking in the next update
- My paint was satin white and bugged out when I went out the garage.
- What the hell is with the progression system in Need for Speed: Undercover? I just hit the down button and race, with no narrative or clues. Hlep em.
- Will Deluxe Edition have free future dlc compared to standard?
- Remeber roaming racers..
- UI pop-ups blocking screen.
- Unofficial NFS App for Fans
- Is there a reason why there aren't no crowds/props on the 400+ version of The Resort's Circuit while the 220 has?
- Finishing a race
- Should I get a Porsche GT2RS or a McLaren 570s?
- What’s a good first car to buy?
- Have a question for anyone who has the Zonda in Heat with max ultimate + performance parts. Why is that the cars transmission feels like its slipping when flooring it? Bounces the revs for a second or two then switches gears. Wondering if i should swap out the 8 speed for a smaller gear transmission
- Lost my saved game after getting a new PS4
- Will they fix grainy image
Need for Speed Heat - January Update Posted: 23 Jan 2020 06:56 AM PST Hello everyone! You've been awaiting the Under the Hood article eagerly, and we appreciate your patience. Thank you for all the feedback you have been providing over time. As mentioned in the UTH, the January Update is planned to go live on January 28th, and includes the following features: - You'll find some steering wheels that have been tested, and a few others might work - Chat Wheel to easily communicate with other players in the game - In-game store with the option to purchase the "Key to the Map" which unlocks collectible locations and almost all hideouts. On top of that, there's a few nice Quality of Life changes and a load of bug fixes. These will be outlined in the extensive update notes that should release on Monday, ahead of the update, here on reddit. Speaking of the update, there will be cars. We will be talking more about them as it comes closer. We will continue to work on feedback points you have been providing, one update at a time, so please keep it coming. Have a fantastic Thursday, - Max (I'll circle back to this thread later tonight, just have a few meetings) [link] [comments]

The new update is beyond a joke Posted: 23 Jan 2020 07:14 AM PST Like seriously ghost, the game is dead because you removed the one thing that kept payback alive, speedlists, you need to get your priorities straight because people don't want the same thing, they want new content, I've lost all my faith in you ghost, either hire more staff so you can get more content made quicker or don't made this update a main update if it hasn't got anything to add in [link] [comments]

We are allowed to be disappointed with this UTH. Posted: 23 Jan 2020 11:54 AM PST Firstly - This UTH was so hyped like we was gonna get massive news. And all we got was wheel support ... and more CaRs CoMiNg. Yes this game is decent with a good handling model, but compared to nfs 2015, fh4 and maybe payback we had so many more updates in 3 months after release. Short cheesy and predictable story - What happened to the racing league?? one mention and that's it, could have been a great story thing! No button mapping but adding StEeRiNg SuPpOrT (wtf) No rep increase, so why race at night? No real multiplayer apart from driving together and accepting races Bunch of useless races like who waned the 5 dirt races? This means that they had people working on off road handling, customisation and world building for 5 bloody races. Talk about wasting resources! I'm sure we can come up with a far longer list of the problems. Yes the game is good, but finished? no there is officially nothing to do anymore in this game, no extra story content, no leaderboards no nothing, You can't even drift properly at night because the cops come and destroy you. This game has so much potential but the way its going people won't play. I've not been playing for 2 weeks now, there is nothing to do anymore. So people are not hating on the devs or the game, these are valid problems and the game has no more content left. Unless they add something big, it has run its course. AND you can add a million cars, but if there is nothing to do, what is the point? Also payback came out in 2017 so in it took them two years to give us this pile of poo Check out straightuphippo on YouTube who inspired some of these points [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jan 2020 07:48 AM PST Well, time to put the tinfoil hat on bois. I already wrote this earlier in a YouTube video regarding the Update, but I thought I'd post it here. Totally based on speculation through observation. I have been observing this for a while, ever since the announcement of there being a NFS in 2019 in general and this is what I am getting out of it: Ghost probably does not have the funds to actually make proper post-launch content for Heat. How I am getting to this you ask? Well, let's go back a bit. 2015 gets announced, big ass marketing campaign, HOLY FUCKING SHIT THE HYPE. Game gets released, OH GOD OH FUCK ITS NOT GOOD AND BASICALLY FLOPS. Still gets relatively large amount of post launch content. Payback gets announced, smaller marketing campaign than 2015, well cautiously optimistic we were, right? Game released, Oh for fucks sake, its alright I guess, but damn why did they do this. Also flops arguably even more than 2015. Post launch content is eh, less than 2015. Heat gets "announced". We don't even know the name by EA Play 2019. Marketing barely exists. Game gets announced finally 3 months before release, but well, like maybe 2-3 trailers were released and Heat Studio. Thats it in terms of marketing. And it was all relatively tame marketing. Game releases, wow this is actually kinda good and fun, hey guys NFS might finally be on track again, not really good but on the way there, wow Reception is also better. Possibly not a flop. Welp, post launch support barely exists. See how with each game, stuff in which non-development money is spent, gets less and less apparent, meaning post launch support and marketing? Well here we are. Heat released after 2 flops, finally game that community thinks is worth supporting. Ghost can't because they don't have enough support from EA to actually create enough content. yaaay Which is partly on them, but it's not 100% their fault Heat is getting the lack of support it has IMO. It's a culmination of the circumstances of the recent years of NFS. [link] [comments]
The update was wrongly advertised, everyone has the right of feeling dissapointed Posted: 23 Jan 2020 09:29 AM PST Nothing that hasnt been said already, content was mentioned numerous times, expectations were risen, a whole UTH was written. And what we get is a little quote pretty much saying "see you next time" They at least could have given us the entire patch notes, to avoid this kind of response. As usual, a communication error. I'm going to put my two cents in. Posted: 23 Jan 2020 08:16 AM PST It's an update. Tbh, I never expected much out of it. But what I will have to say, the wait for this is a bit too long. How ever the community's reaction I'm noticing is a bit ridiculous. Y'all hyped it up like Razor returning to the franchise. He ain't, just fyi. Please stop hyping up things. But the way Max worded his quotes on twitter did make it sound like something bigger was on the way. Nothing new and nothing special. That's really the bulk of the update. Steering Wheel Support - K, nice Emote Wheel - When my mic decides to hate me. A shortcut pack - Just use the interactive map on the internet that's free. Scratches removed from cars in gas stations- Nice A manual shifting issue sort of resolved - Better have solved the $10,000 bribe issue. I'm thankful they're adding something, but I am disappointed they decided to take this long to tell us something bigger is coming. That ending is just a tease. I hope the cars added in the next update are something we've all been waiting for. [link] [comments]
NFS Pro Street - My childhood NFS hero Posted: 23 Jan 2020 03:16 PM PST I Absolutely love Need for Speed Pro Street to death and believe it to be the best Need for Speed title in the franchise. To be fair, I could be biased, since I grew up with the game along with several others. It's truly saddening to find out that it never really took off on release (compared to other NFS games) and doesn't have much of a community sorrounding Pro Street. The game had true potential to be one of the setting examples of a fun and interesting racing game made for true car enthusiasts. There are core fundamentals about ProStreet that construct to be what it is and one of those elements is the SimCade role. The game presents itself as a mix of typical arcade racing and semi-modern simulator. This was the first of its kind, thus increasing ProStreet's unique character. But, unfortunately resulted in negative feedback with the earlier community's problem about the understeer. However, I've played the game long enough to know that the understeer is only an early game staple, and as you progress, the game's customization options allow you to improve handling stats. Such as increasing your aero or messing with your driveshaft tunes/tires. You really had to know how a car works so you can tune it properly, which in turn drives away most casual gamers. Unfortunate for a good chunk of negative feedback to come from a misconception. I blame the sudden change of pace in the franchise's turning point from all around illegal street racing to dropping a difficult, closed track SimCade racer out of nowhere. I'll also note that ProStreet was meant to be an extremely difficult game, at least more difficult than previous games; another sentiment to add to ProStreet's personality. What really encaptures me is all of the punky, filthy, aesthetic design; manifesting into this unique and lively atmosphere. I will also not forget to mention the gameplay features that truly set this game apart from other NFS titles: The damage system and nitrous effect. Yes, similar damage mechanics from Pro Street are occupied in other titles, but this game really accompanies the player with constant fear and sense of danger throughout races. I'm looking at you, Nevada speedway. The nitrous effect, if truth be told, embarks the player with a real feel for the game's title. "Need for Speed". You could be running at 80 or 100MPH, and when that nitrous kicks in, it would feel like a staggering +200MPH boost. Although, ashame there's a preset on almost all cars to have a 250mph/403kmph speed cap. But, the intense, butt-clentching speed effects made up for that. An honorable mention to the widespread customization options: numorous choices between spoilers, rims, color schemes, and autosculpt mechanic, as well as being able to pick what manufacturer to purchase from for your nitrous installation (Why don't we see more of these in recent games?). I've previously said before about atmosphere and design. Only, I'm going to go in depth. The style of theme and in-game background art. This might seem a little weird given that literally, barely anyone would go as far to be captured by simple background style, but that filthy design is what gives the game personality. And, In my opinion, something that's missing from modern games. Unique style that gives games memorable character and icon. I'll add that this specific style use gives a sense of intimidation erupting off your opponents. Adversaries in their cinematic intros release this menacing aura that hesitates the player, questioning oneself if they're really up for the challenge. The music choice also supports these layers and really fits into the category. Those of you who have played the game remember when you could win a drag race, speeding in absolute measure, only to feel a sense of satisfaction when you hear that "YEEEAAAHHHHH!!" followed by that distinct guitar riff at the finish line. The more "modern retro electronic" music types slips right in when either you're in the menus, or customizing your ride. Junkie XL has done a resounding job at composing the music for this installment. You most likely will not forget the elements brought to life with the in game announcers and animated background festival. Bystanders and spectators cheering you on as well as that announcer of all the following: reacts to your totaled car, reacts to which new car you buy, reacts to EXACTLY what happened during your race (which is an attention to detail feature I have never before seen in any other game), and hypes up both you and the crowd throughout the race. Honorable mentions to the original racing organizations/teams and their style for each racing events. Battle Machine, Nitrocide, React Team Sessions, Noise Bomb, Apex Glide, Super promotion, and all the rest I didn't mention. The sheer ingenuity of these elements blend together like a nice smoothie to fabricate this unique and lively atmosphere. Only real downside to the in-game elements are the boss battles. The bosses themselves are just sub-par to average NPC opponents. I swear to god that one Porche that overtakes me at every single corner. JP Laurent should've been the real endgame boss. Some facts and details I will now mention: The in-game announcers are real life racing event hosts that commentate the playdown. The first one that you hear in the beginning of your playthrough is a commentator known as Jarod DeAnda (In game known as Big-J) which has both a twitter account and instagram. (He's not hard to find, so no link needed.) He officially hosts all live Formula-D events. The punky/hypey type announcer is known as J-Bird (In game known as J-Mack) which is the offical co-host announcer at NOPI TunerVision, a TV release from 2004. Not much information on this guy but he has a couple of media stations. His website, His YouTube channel. This guy is my favorite announcer :) he was the hypiest one of the bunch and always came up with the funniest dialogues! Sometimes I would just sit there, put down the controller, and listen to whatever he said. And so satisfying to hear him shout "Awww, Here comes RYYYYAAN COOOOPERR!! They call him the comeback king!" The third announcer with the British accent is known as John Hindhaugh (In game known as Roger Evans) and is both the offical vocal host and managing director for Radio Le Mans along with his both wife and co-director, Eve Hewitt. No real social media status with this guy, but his wife surely does comply with that area. Eve's Twitter. Now for some more skeptical information: About why Blackbox decided to go into more of a closed track route than open world street racing. We all know that information being: "ProStreet was a side filler project for the development of undercover". But one that caught my eye was a comment left on a YouTube video stating: "I used to work with a former Blackbox developer. He said that the company was facing many lawsuits from multiple juries from the notion that illegal street racing games are causing an increase in actual illegal racing. So they went with Pro Street's legal style until the heat died down." In my opinion, this makes more sense, but I couldn't find any useful information on if this is true. Anyway, if you hadn't guessed the picture, I'm a hardcore ProStreet fan. This particular NFS title will always hold a special place in my heart, no matter the circumstance or the words spoken by anyone. In fact, I believe ProStreet may have set the example of my dream car, the green React Team Sessions RX-7 featured in the game's promotion. If any of the developers are reading this (whether beit former Blackbox members or Ghost), I bet you the community would love to have this installent up and running again, either in the form of a remaster or sequel. In any case, if that were to happen, all my hard earned savings will be thrown away in a heartbeat. Thank you Blackbox for creating my childhood spirit. Sincerely - A ProStreet lover. Posted: 23 Jan 2020 11:25 PM PST Pepperidge farms remebers roaming racers! When you're just crusing around palm city seems empty. I know online allows you to play with others in freeroam but its not the same tbh. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jan 2020 09:49 PM PST Hello, Is there a way to turn off the blue box pop-ups (escaped, cop chase started, etc...) It is really distracting and causes a hindrance in a game that requires split second reactions on the road. Why would it be placed in the MIDDLE of the screen? such an odd decision. Thank you. What’s a good first car to buy? Posted: 23 Jan 2020 06:14 PM PST I'm currently just using my starter car and it's beginning to fall behind. Should I focus on upgrading my current car or save up to a new car? If I should get a new car, I'd like for it to take me fairly far and be a good deal. [link] [comments]
