I must have the worst luck because whenever I join a lobby and want to race I cant get anyone to join. If I do get someone to join they crash on the first corner and quit. Pic for attention.

I gave my 180SX this wrap and nicknamed it after my favorite Naruto character Itachi. So far it’s my fastest car until I get the Porsche 911 after I finish the story.

    Update/DLC request

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:35 PM PST

NFS needs new wheels, not just recycling the ones we already had. It's a pretty dull lineup for non stance fans. I want some Buddyclub P1R's, Hayashi Racing, Advan Racing, Spoon, etc. Hell, I'd be happy to pick from the stock wheels of the cars in game already. The R34 wheels fit surprisingly well on a lot of cars.

I also want the rim selection to make you choose the manufacturer first so we don't have to scroll through so much rims before getting to the one we want. TWICE. For the front then the rear.

Also, give us back the offset option.

P.S. The music is stale, change it please. Older NFS titles have better soundtrack than Heat.

    Nissan GTR R35 custom wrap

Thinking about buying NFS: Heat, but have some questions.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:58 PM PST

1.) Is there any kind of grind? I bought Forza Horizon 4 and was quite disappointing by the lack of any kind of grind. There was no incentive to get credits because you have super-cars handed to you and upgrades are cheap.

Kinda makes the ownership of a car more boring if that makes sense. I'm not really interested in the game if I have the best cars handed to me.

2.) Is there multiplayer? Just racing right?

3.) This would be my first NFS game. Do I need to know anything specifically?

4.) Is it at least semi-realistic? While I didn't like Forza Horizon 4 much, the driving felt really good. I'm not all that into arcade style physics and driving. I want to be punished (fairly) for driving like a dumb-ass.

All I need is answers to those questions and maybe a synopsis of why you like the game.

    Thank you!

    Mercer and the final mission

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:36 AM PST

This might be an unpopular opinion and thus I might receive downvotes, but who cares about fake internet points.

I finally finished NFS Heat last night. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The cars handle the best they have in a long time and the story wasn't too cringy this time. The only gripe I have is the car Mercer drives in the final mission. I understand that most hardcore NFS players hold Most Wanted 2005 as the best NFS game and as a result, the M3 GTR has returned in just about every NFS since Most Wanted 2012. I understand that it's an iconic car in NFS, I just feel like the moment that Mercer smashes out that box would have been more impactful if it had been a new hero car we haven't seen yet, or even Joe's Polestar that was somehow 'recovered.'

Or was this just me? Did you guys think that choice of car was perfect for the moment?

Does anyone know how to get the “vantablack” paint?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 09:16 PM PST

It's pretty much just the darkest black possible. You can't really see pixels cause it's just black. I've seen cars with it but not sure how to do it.

How to fix the Logitech G920 wheel in Need for speed Heat on PC (What I did)

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:19 PM PST

After having to spend a couple of hours trying to get my G920 to work, I finally succeeded and decided to create this post with the fix that ultimately worked for me. There's bound to others who experience the same problems I did. I can't guarantee that it will work for everyone, but I hope someone will find it helpful. Even though I'm using the G920, I'm positive that it could be useful for others, since the devs states that everyone should get G hub, regardless of wheel brand.

I'm going to divide the post into various segments, detailing what I did to get it to work.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wheel setup:- Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel w/ pedals and the LG Driving Force Shifter

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    My problem:

    - After installing G hub as per [THESE] instructions, G hub failed to recognize my G920.

    - After solving that, when I finally logged into the game to try it out, the game told me that "the plugged wheel isn't supported".

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    G Hub/NFSH not recognizing my G920 wheel - How I fixed it:

Thanks to [THIS] extremely helpful post by fellow reddit user CobraKolibry (I wouldn't have found a fix otherwise), I found that my LG HUB lacked the necessary "depots" to even recognize my wheel in the first place.

While the post focuses on getting a G29 to work, the guide can still be used for a G920 (And, as far as I can tell, just about any wheel for NFSH).

If you're also using LG Gaming Software, consider turning of the auto-startup on it. You don't have to uninstall it, but know that the wheel configuration will be moved to the G HUB, whether you like it or now (I know, it's kinda meh). I don't know why, but whenever I have the LG GS and the LG HUB apps running at the same time, NFSH fails to recognize my G920.

NOTE: I highly recommend getting Notepad++ for opening and editing the code-like text files that's mentioned in the G HUB part of this guide. It's free, you can get it from their [HOMEPAGE].

    Step by step:

    - Delete your old wheel drivers to start from fresh:

    1. On your keyboard, press the windows key + R to open the run dialog box.
    2. Type " devmgmt.msc " without the " and hit ok.
    3. Open the HID (Human Interface Devices".
    4. Look for "G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel USB", and the one ending with "USB (HID)".
    5. If you find those, uninstall them. If you don't find them, simply carry on with the guide.

    - Open CobraKolibry's [GUIDE]

    1. Follow CobraKolibry's guide in their post up til step 2, but search for "G920" instead of G29. If you don't have a G920, try searching for your particular wheel. No guarantees it's there!
    2. Follow the rest of CobraKolibry's guide, installing the files as instructed.
    3. Having finished CobraKolibry's guide, G HUB should find your wheel now.
    4. Open up NFS Heat and check if it recognizes your G920. You don't have to get into a car to test this, you should be able to navigate the menus right from the start. If it doesn't, try redoing the procedure, deleting the old drivers and start from scratch.

NOTE: Even after the fix, sometimes after a PC reboot, NFSH fails to recognizing my wheel. The solution I found is to go back into "C:\ProgramData\LGHUB\depots\(Some number)\driver_usb", right click the "logi_win_usb.inf" file and reinstall it, opting out of a reboot when prompted. The game is then able to recognize my G920 correctly, allowing me to use it again. It's irritating, but it works, for now. Could be related to having LG Gaming software installed, but it shouldn't matter, since G hub assumes control of the wheel.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Wheel feels unresponsive/sluggish in-game - Things I changed:

Changed the wheel-ratio in-game and in the LG Hub NFS profile to 300.

    - In simulation games, you'll usually want your wheel to have a turning range of around 900 degrees to resemble real-life driving more closely. In NFSH however, my experience is that it's way too much for the game; I have to turn the wheel almost 180 before getting any sort of response in-game. Changing it to 300 feels much better for me, personally, only having to turn it 180 to get full lock. You can also use the live tuning to manage steering sensitivity in-game.

My current settings (Feels decent, but can no doubt be improved upon):

    Deadzone - 0% | Wheel Force Feedback - 20% | Wheel Tire Force - 70% | Wheel Spring Force - 20% | Wheel Damper Force - 25% | Wheel Surface Force - 20% | Wheel Collision Force - 20%|

    - I also disabled the centerspring in the NFSH profile in G HUB. What the centerspring does is constantly trying to return to center, meaning you have to fight the spring during turns and drifts. Simply click the G920 pic in G HUb, click "Standard" in the top-left and select "NEEDFORSPEEDHEAT", then untick the centerspring option.

    Steering locks up on throttle:

Check your tires + overall car setup.

    - Before they introduced wheel-support, I was able to throw the rear end of my Volvo 242 with ease, just needing to hit the throttle to send it. With the wheel however, steering would lock up whenever I pressed the throttle. I experienced the same difficulty with my circut-specced Mazda RX-7, understeering in every corner.

    - I found that switching tires made all the difference: Prior to using a wheel, I was using drag tires on both my volvo and my RX-7, since it gave me more acceleration. With the wheel however, whenever I use drag tires, I get that extreme understeer. According to the tire description, drag tires gives much better acceleration, but suffers in turning. This indeed makes sense, but I found that the effect of those tires where much more noticable with a wheel, than with a controller.

Brake pedal is stiff and hard to depress, making it difficult to slow down at high speeds:

There's a small cushion-block put inside the G920 brake pedal to simulate the way a real car's brake puts pressure on the breaking fluid when you press the brake. In my experience, it's not that great, really. Thankfully, removing this block is easy, and there's plenty of guides showing you how, for example [THIS]

Issue I found while using the LG 920 DF Shifter and Wheel in NFS Heat:

    - The handbreak occasionally locks up when I use it, having to press it again to disengage it. Highly annoying, I've yet to find a solution to this. The "G-Shift" feature might be the key, but I've yet to try it.

    - Using the shifter, I'm unable to put the car in reverse, despite G hub stating that that particular button (where you press down on the shifter and shift it bottom right) is designated as reverse. My temporary solution to this is to put the shifter in neutral whenever I want to reverse, then press the left paddle on my wheel to shift down into reverse. Annoying, but doable.

    - The forcefeedback is occasionally deactivated whenever I crash into cars or solid objects, or when going over curbs. It is turned back on eventually, but it's still, as the other things, annoying.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all for my rant here, I hope someone finds it useful. Sorry for any mistypes, etc.

    Anyone still get DR1002?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:39 PM PST

Does anyone still get DR1002 when trying to access online play in NFS Heat? Normally if I try to hop in a party with friends, I have to load the game, creat the in game party, then join the chat party in that order otherwise it'll constantly give me this error. Now I'm trying to solo-queue into multiplayer and constantly receiving the same error

[Data Collection] - Xbox - Cannot get past "Sign in as..." Screen

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 07:01 AM PST

    Hello everyone.

After the January Update, some of you have reported an issue occurring on Xbox, where you are stuck at the title screen saying "Sign in as your username". When in that screen, your controller becomes unresponsive.

I know this is a frustrating issue, and we are looking to resolve this as quickly as we can. We would appreciate your support, as we are having a tough time reproducing the issue.

It would be much appreciated, if you could first of all:

    • Make sure you do NOT have any other devices connected to your Xbox than your controller. No Guitar Hero controllers, no Disney Infinity devices. None. Not in the front, not on the back, not on the side.
    • We are investigating a different issue where the Elite 2 controller is unresponsive at all times.

We'd also appreciate if you could provide us with this information:

    • Username:
    • Xbox model:
    • Controller model:
    • Controller is used Wired / Wireless:
    • Do you use automatic sign in via your controller: Yes / No
    • Controller Firmware Version:

(You can find the controller firmware version in System > Settings > Devices & streaming > Accessories. Select your controller, then device info (or three dots ... at the bottom), and the "Firmware Version" should show the information. Note that you don't have to update the firmware, just note the version. )

Thank you for your help as we dig into this, it proves to be tough to reproduce so far, which makes it evenly tough to resolve.

    - Max
