| Heat is in desperate need of a drag mode Posted: 12 Mar 2020 08:02 AM PDT Let me preface by saying I like Heat. I like it a fucking lot, it did a lot of things right like the customization, the day/night mechanic, engine swaps, and game design (such as the "feeling" of speed, graphics, etc.). One thing I feel like the game had missed a huge opportunity to pull off though is drag races and its a huge shame that they didnt add them into the game. From a real world design standpoint, drag races are some of the most common street races that happen to this day. Living in georgia where car culture is very much alive, the easiest races you can get into here are drag races at stoplights with random people you pull up beside. Drag races are also very much in tune with the car customization aspect of the game. As far as races go, drag is one that is a lot more parts focused when it comes to winning than other races such as sprints or especially circuits. With circuit races, car parts can only do so much to help you before it becomes a question of skill, cornering ability, etc. While with drag races, skill and timing can only accomplish enough until you have to start focusing on getting better parts. This gives us all the reason to spend all the money we end up sitting on at the end of the game on tuning our vehicles. Another thing I think drag races would help do is bring muscle cars to the forefront of high performance vehicles alongside the supercars and exotics. Reaching 400+ the game begins to plateau towards the Porches and Lambos being the meta while other cars like muscle cars (my poor boss 302 ;-;) and japanese imports fall to the side. Developing a thorough drag mode would revitalize the use of muscle cars late game and will give them the opportunity to shine. It can even bring up the possibility of unique customization features for those cars like forced air induction with hood scoops and managing vehicle weight. We already have drag tires and stats for torque and 0-60 plus quarter mile time for crying out loud! This game already does a fantastic job of echoing the things that need for speed underground has accomplished and it just makes no sense why the developers would do so much right and still take away features that previous games had. Even payback which is regarded as a sub par game had a drag mode that was relatively fun to play, so why would they take a step back in the wrong direction? idk what else to say, its been a rant that i had brewing in me for a long time and i may be looking at it all wrong and there could be a valid reason as to why drag races aren't in the game, but whatever that reason is its beyond me. Not to the point where it'd be a burnout game (no explosions or anything over the top) but to where you'd have the ability to take your opponents out ,without the use of emps or spike strips. Too many Supra fanbois yelling on Heat's lack of Toyota, but where are Bugatti fanboys clamoring for the Chiron in Heat? Tuner-era NFS and Nitro had Bugatti Veyron, but NFS 2015 killed off the French tanks. Pray for the Chiron to make a console/PC NFS debut after mobile No Limits, but Criterion (or Ghost) may nerf the putain. [link] [comments] | ||

| Is the handling in NFS Heat better than in NFS 2015? Posted: 12 Mar 2020 09:39 AM PDT Hello, as in the title, are the physics better in Heat than in 2015? I am playing through the NFS 2015 at the moment and Im annoyed with the handling. Driving grip setup cars is like fighting an understeering boat to turn. The brake to drift style of the game and heavy drifting oriented driving is not fun for me. While playing the 2015 I keep reminding myself about the previous instalments I enjoyed much more: UG2, MW, Carbon. Now I'm wondering about buying NFS Heat hoping that its better. Could you please advise me about the handling and gameplay? Did it get any better, is „normal" driving legit now or is it still drifting oriented? Will I get more of a Most Wanted feeling out of it?
