Any NFS game or similar with a healthy multiplayer scene and car customization? Posted: 23 Jan 2021 11:02 PM PST Preferably not too outdated. I've been playing Heat and while it's a decent game, the multiplayer seems pretty dead. I saw a comment saying Hot Pursuit has an active multiplayer scene but it doesn't really have the other stuff I'm looking for in a NFS game (customization). [link] [comments]
Did anyone find NFS Payback's offroading events...atrocious? Posted: 23 Jan 2021 04:31 PM PST I get trying to add another element to a game. The offroading however feels unnecessary and it was poorly designed. The AI love to bash you around and with no tire grip, you basically go spinning in circles, the AI is unbearably hard somehow despite the fact that in other offroad based games, I actually play pretty well. Is it just me or did anyone else find the whole offroad series pointless and not fun to play? [link] [comments]

[PC]Hot pursuit remastered first race crash Posted: 23 Jan 2021 08:37 PM PST Okay so I bought the NFS Heat + NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered bundle on steam on sale last weekend, and while I can play Heat(it's finnicky, I can launch the game but only if my controller isn't plugged in, then I plug it in at the menu and have no issues), I haven't been able to play a single race of NFS HPR. I've gone through EA support(3 different reps, the 3rd one LITERALLY told me that I've now tried every troubleshooting option that they have, and that they would pass it on to their game team - it's been a week with no updates. Things I've tried include: Clean booting PC, running as admin, running in windows compatibility mode for 7 and 8(I'm on 10), reinstalling the game, reinstalling steam, reinstalling origin, deleting origin cache, changing my system time, updating drivers, updating pc, and probably other steps that I may be forgetting. For a while I couldn't load the game at all, but if I clean boot AND run it as an admin, I can get to the menu, change graphics settings(I've tried high and low settings, as well as disabling crossplay), that sort of thing, I just can't actually load the game. I have a 3700x and a 5700xt so performance shouldn't be an issue. I tried reducing the game to only use 2 CPU cores(a fix for the OG hot pursuit) to no avail. Any ideas? edit: also 16gb of 3200mhz ram [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jan 2021 10:54 AM PST I've tried to use my acme sti racing wheel for NFS Heat and NFS Payback, but it doesn't work, I even tinkered around with x360ce for an hour or so but it still doesn't work, my computer detects it but the game doesn't, what should I do? [link] [comments]
Map design, where do you even begin? Posted: 23 Jan 2021 02:43 AM PST I ask this because I have been straying away from playing Need for Speed Heat lately and actually have gotten into brainstorming game concepts again. The level of quality of them is questionable but that's not my point. My point is that it seems rather difficult designing a map that is visually interesting while also conceptually interesting to drive. I remember as a kid I liked drawing this sort stuff but now I can't even draw a line without ripping it out of my notebook and throwing it away. It probably doesn't help that I'm using a black pen on white paper. It leaves a lot to be desired visually in my opinion. Really the only things I have been able to gather from the drawings I have done so far are that I drew a canyon, a city (if you wanna call a line of 3 columns a city), and a line that was going to be a high way but fell flat. I'd like to look at maps on my laptop for inspiration but all I was really able to settle on is Oregon as the state for a basis. Before my eyes began glazing over trying to find something more concrete. Like a specific city or town. Along with different landmarks. I suppose what's nice about looking at a world map in a video game is that it doesn't go far beyond where you can actually travel too (at least in racing games). Where as on maps. I don't have any clue on where to start and where to end. Speaking of video game maps. I have looked at the different nfs tracks and maps but as of the past couple of years. I seem to simply copy what is on screen rather then expanding on it or better yet. Simply taking inspiration and coming up with something original. This is definitely some intolerable bitching from me. I guess I just want someone to point me in a specific direction. Mainly because I need to be able to visualize how the map would look and how would the story take place during it... I don't know, I'm tired and need to sleep anyways lol! Anyways have a nice day or night. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jan 2021 05:24 AM PST Any active crews on Need For Speed Heat? I was in the starter ghost crew, I requested to join a few to get in a more active one and when I looked today I'm not in one at all now! Don't know if I got accepted then kicked or something. Prostreet Booster pack Questions Posted: 23 Jan 2021 09:05 AM PST OK, so after being hit with an urge to replay some old NFS games, I went through the games I played as a child. Started at Underground 2, went to Most Wanted, and then I wanted to get one of my old favourites up and running. So I started getting NFS prostreet up and running. First playthrough got abandoned because I made bad decisions with car purchases. Then I read that I was missing 19 cars that were not contained in the original release. Here is where my plea for help starts. I have tried everything I can thing of, but I cannot get access to the 14 cars contained in the booster packs, I have tried SAAM007's patch and that got the 5 cars from the collectors edition to show their face, I've tried the pull Cars_Vault.BIN from my CD-ROM, I've used the multi-unlocker to try and force the game to unlock these cars. Nothing works, I've patched to 1.1 and then installed the Multifix scripts. Please help a lost boi looking to play one of the kinda shittier NFS games EDITE: Okay I fixed the problem by doing the same thing I've been doing, but for a third time. In other words I reinstalled it and followed the suggestions again. At this point I am happy it works and all I am doing is adding a cost to the new cars, so I will close this post [link] [comments]
