- Apparently, my dad found a CD-R copy of NFS Porsche 2000 at the trash back in 2014 and brought it home. I managed to reconstruct them mostly, but does anyone know about GST Racing? Couldn't find anything about their add-on cars for NFS5, except a video on the GT/C that pointed to NFSCars.

| Posted: 10 Oct 2020 05:12 PM PDT I was watching some footage of Hot Pursuit Remastered, and the level two EMP upgrade describes the use of an, "explosively pumped flux compression generator". I know some of you don't like weapons, but hear me out, it's nonetheless very interesting. At first, I thought this was just fake scientific jargon, like they use in movies all the time. However, it is, in fact, a real thing. It can indeed be used for creating EMPs, after a short build-up time. I don't know about anyone else, but I found this very surprising. It even goes to the extent of explaining why it has limited uses, as the real-life device creating the EMP is destroyed after one use. They are a cheaper way of creating an electromagnetic pulse, and you'll even find that the diagrams are not too inaccurate. They even use the correct terminology in describing it as an "NNEMP" (non-nuclear EMP). I mean, this kind of detail in a racing game, merely for some weapon, is practically unprecedented. Some of you might think, "well, it just takes a Google search." But, I have researched EMPs before, out of interest, and did learn about them in physics, and had never heard of such a thing. So, I thought that was rather underappreciated and is worth a note. Posted: 10 Oct 2020 09:59 PM PDT Although HP 2010 does have free roam,there's literally nothing you can do,and just driving around in the map does gets boring after a while. So I'll propose an Outrun mode in the remaster's free roam.Basically,it's like UG2's outrun in which you can find racers driving around the map and you can challenge them with a press of a button,with each racer you beat,the more their cars would upgrade.but while racing,the SCPD will occasionally pursue you. | Played NFS Payback for the time. Posted: 10 Oct 2020 11:39 PM PDT So I got Payback for free on PS Plus and so far, not so bad. The game plays decently, the cars are almost the same as Heat and performance customization is ok but does need a lot of work. I don't like how you have to pay for more speed cards and how you can't transfer speed cards from one car to another. Restocking's very luck-based but I can understand why they timed it, so there could be more races to watch out for. The one thing I can't figure out is the live tuning for race/offroad cars and why it couldn't be universal live tuning like Heat. Challengers are a nice thing to have and it kinda feels like a nod to Midnight Club, which I actually like. I do wish activities like Speedtraps were actual races again though. [link] [comments] | ||

| 35 FPS cap on NFS Heat, despite great hardware. Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:18 PM PDT Greetings, So as per the title, I just got Need For Speed Heat on Origin. Problem is, the game is capped at 35 fps and does not want to go higher. My rig is:
So a pretty beefy rig, shouldn't have trouble, yet here we are. If I change all the settings to be on ultra, at 1440p, it runs at 35 fps. If I lower all settings to low, and put the resolution to 1600x900, it STILL runs at 35 fps. CPU usage is like 70%, and GPU usage is 30-40%. What is wrong? I tried updating to the latest Drivers: No change. Changing from fullscreen to windowed or borderless, no change. Optimizing settings around in the Nvidia control panel, no change. Unplugging all usb devices except my mouse and keyboard : No change. Restarting my pc, no change. Used DDU to uninstall my drivers, and installed the 445.87 drivers. Went from a 30fps cap to 35 when I did that, but still capped. I applied the CPU Fix (user.cfg ), with no change. I have no fps limiter app or overclocking app running. I am at a loss as to what to do. I see people with weaker rigs running it at 45-50 fps. I can't reach that as I am capped. What's wrong? Any help? [link] [comments] | ||

All has started today and I'm sure my PC is the same as yeasterday (no changes in components). I'm running the game on a Ryzen 5 3600 with a GTX 1660 Super with 16gb RAM. Already tried to repair files through Origin and my drivers are updated to the latest version... can't really figure out what it might be :( [link] [comments] | ||
