Fan Theory: The "Cops vs Racers" trilogy is Zephyr's rise to power. From casual speeder to street racing martyr.

    Posted: 08 Oct 2020 05:00 PM PDT

    Hot Pursuit:

-Zephyr (a.k.a. You, the player) is a hot-shot rookie who joins a gang of well-to-do street racers who are tired of riced-up JDM and just want to push exotic cars to the limits they were intented.

-Initially, the races are purely for fun, without intention to harm the police, just to outrun them.

    - Seacrest County is the perfect playground to achieve this, since it has more roads than population, which means less risk for everyone involved.

    - However, the County is also the place where a new government project against street racing has been funded: Speed Enforcement Pursuit System. Instead of sending entire squads of inexperienced drivers on outdated cars, a heavily-modified interceptor supercar with a highly skilled officer would be dispatched to bring speeders to justice.

    - A more severe, borderline-legal punishment for arrested racers is also implemented: The police department takes complete ownership over the impounded vehicle, converting them into interceptor units to their discretion.

-The racers start to invade the County. Some get busted, others pass under the radar. Tension rises over both sides. SCPD imports new tech for more severe busting methods, increasing their interceptor fleet in the process.

    - A soon-to-go-rogue officer leaks the tech dealers available to allow the racers to tune their vehicles with the same tech that the SCPD has, leveling up the field. He gets arrested later on, but the battle is on.

-Zephyr, true to his exceptional talent, manages to dominate all races and trials, but eventually, the battle between racers and cops reach a melting point, and the gang decides to disband forever for good. A final race (The Seacrest Tour) is made, and everyone parts ways.

-Sensing a new challenge, Zephyr sells all his fleet of cars and escapes to Fairhaven City to start anew.

    Most Wanted:

-After arriving to Fairhaven in an Aston Martin, Zephyr quickly learns about the local street racing scene. In stark contrast to Seacrest County, Fairhaven racers are reckless and dangerous, without hesitation to push anyone out of their way, cop or racer alike.

-Inspired by an old ranking system from Rockport City based on criminal records, the "Most Wanted" blacklist ranks the fastest, notorious racers in the scene, all painted in white.

-In contrast to Seacrest County limitless funding, Fairhaven does not have the resources for super cars or pursuit tech, being forced to throw as many units as they can against racers.

-Zephyr begins to take on the Most Wanted list one by one while causing mayhem against the FHPD. After eventually becoming the most wanted racer in the city, he starts to see himself as the liberator of all racers, taking an oath to defy the police and its brutality against street racing.

-Calling all racers to his cause, Zephyr moves to Redview County, with intentions to ignite a battle against the law.

    Rivals

-Zephyr, self-proclaimed leader of his anti-police movement, takes Redview County by storm, releasing public videos that taunt the cops and requests the freedom for all streets racers.

-However, Redview has learned the lesson from Seacrest, and has fully adopted and implemented the Speed Enforcement program, spending billions on hypercar interceptors and state-of-the-art pursuit tech. The orders are swift: Pursue and arrest by any means necessary.

-Racers take this as a declaration of war. Like Prometheus stealing from the gods, Zephyr adquires pursuit tech for his racers, leveling up the field once again.

-Zephyr and his racers lead the ultimate battle against F-8 and the RCPD

    NFS Heat Online Lobbies

    Posted: 08 Oct 2020 07:17 PM PDT

Do people race anymore online? Whenever I join a session people just seem to be doing their own thing. I'm trying to get the online trophies for the platinum and this makes it somewhat unachievable. Anyone down to run some races?

    What to do first..

    Posted: 08 Oct 2020 02:30 PM PDT

Hey all, what would be the best way to go about progressing through the game? I see theres a few things to do early in game but wanted to ask some vet players what to do first to maximize my time playing and progress.

I'm torn between upgrading my existing car (with cards) or buying a new car altogether. Should I run through the main story or do the speed challenges first? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
